REWIND: A 2nd Place Winning Short Story

It has been an amazing journey back into writing so far. After years of my writing being put on the backburner, these last several months I have really reignited my passion, and gone for it. But the waiting game is hard, and I have a few rejections in the bag already. As do all of us writers putting our work out there, right?

But it can be hard to tell my brain to shut off. Haha. I’ve had some struggles and doubts about my own skill, even wondering recently whether I should keep pressing forward. I wondered if I should just keep writing as my own personal hobby, rather than striving for publication.

But late last night I got a sign, in the form of an email. An acceptance. An announcement. An answer.

I have officially won 2nd place in the Writers Weekly 24 hour Short Story Contest. My story – Rewind – has been published on their website! I am very pumped about this and proudly want to share it.

It is a darker fiction story, written from the inspiration of the contest prompt. I hope you will check it out and let me know what you think. πŸ™‚

So without further ado, click the link below to read, REWIND. Enjoy!
